ICP Connect Scholarships

Students from 29 eligible countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America can receive ICP Connect Scholarships , offered by VLIR-UOS, to pursue an English-taught Master’s degree at a Flemish university or university college in Belgium. These ICP Connect programs are internationally recognized and are delivered by one or more universities in Flanders.

What the VLIR-UOS Scholarship Includes

VLIR-UOS scholarships fully cover living expenses (including accommodation and meals), travel costs, and tuition fees. Scholarships are awarded for the entire duration of the Master’s program—either 12 or 24 months—and partial scholarships are not available.

Who Can Apply for ICP Connect Scholarships

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for an ICP Connect Scholarships:

Nationality and Residence: Candidates must be citizens of one of the 29 eligible countries and should have been living in one of these countries at the time of application (though not necessarily their country of citizenship).
Age Limit: For initial Master’s programs, applicants must not be older than 35 years as of January 1 of the intake year. For advanced Master’s programs, the age limit is 45 years.
Professional Background and Experience: Preference is given to candidates working in higher education, government, or civil society, or those aiming to build a career in these sectors. However, highly motivated candidates from the private sector or recent graduates without work experience may also be considered.
Scholarship Applications: Candidates may submit only one ICP Connect scholarship application per year.
Previous Scholarships: Applicants must not have previously received a Belgian government scholarship for study, nor should they have enrolled in a course of study at a Belgian higher education institution before the start of the admission year.

The ICP Connect Scholarships is open to candidates from the following 30 countries:

Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cambodia, Cuba, DR Congo, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Guinea, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Palestine, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.

Follow the application instructions provided on the university’s website for your chosen program.
Submit your application for both program admission and the scholarship on the university’s website. Be sure to indicate your intention to apply for the scholarship when submitting your program application. Only one application per Master’s program is allowed each year.
