The S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences provides a monthly stipend to cover living and food expenses, with no foreign exchange conversion applied. Free on-campus accommodation is also offered. While the stipend does not include full health insurance, the Centre deducts a small contribution toward a medical plan.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

Be 35 years of age or younger as of December 31 of the application year.
Be a citizen of a developing country (excluding India).
Not hold a long-term or short-term visa for residence in any developed country, including India.
Possess a master’s degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, or biology, with at least five years of combined undergraduate and graduate studies completed at a recognized institution.

Provide evidence of English proficiency if English was not the primary medium of instruction.
Submit proof of intent to return to their home country after the fellowship concludes.
Not undertake any other assignments during the fellowship period.
